It is so hard to believe it is already September and that Summer is slowly beginning to fade away into Fall. August was a CRAZY month for us Keller folks. It seems like we have been go-go-going since the kiddos turned 3 in the middle of July. Here is an August recap:
August 1st I turned 30! It wasn't so different from any other Birthday, as much as it was simply a milestone. Brian and I celebrated together at Jag's, a fancy restaurant in West Chester. It was a nice, quiet Birthday.
Most of the early part of August was spent getting all the different odds and ends tied up around our old house in addition to making sure things moved smoothly with the new house. I spent the second half of August in a packing/moving frenzy. We had started packing early on, mostly getting the stuff we didn't need on a daily basis into boxes first and then slowly moving furniture and more boxes into the garage as we could. We closed on our house on Monday morning, August 27th. Which meant we really had to be "out" Sunday night. So Brian and I packed almost all day Saturday (we soon learned, we have a lot of stuff!!), loaded the moving van (plus the van, car & trailer) all day Sunday and ended up staying with our awesome family until we moved into the new house Tuesday. By Wednesday afternoon were were practically unpacked and pretty much settled into "the new big house", as the kids refer to it. At this point all we really have left is the office/guest bedroom, the Master Bedroom closet, garage and basement. Most of which is just figuring out the organization in the new space.
In August while still at the old house I also started watching my best friend's two girls and when we moved we said goodbye to baby Brady. Now settled at the new house I will continue to watch the two girls, along with their new baby sister. Jack & Maggie get along with this family, and have known them all their life (and vice verse), so it is a good fit for everyone.
Now that it is September the kids can finally say we are going to the beach THIS month. For months (and I mean months, like January or February) we have been talking about how we are going to the beach in September. Well, this coming weekend we are finally going! We leave early, early, early Saturday morning and are staying for the week with Papa & Gee at Hilton Head Island, SC. I am very much looking forward to the relaxation part of this vacation. I think I need to let my hair down, lay in the sand/by the pool and just take in the fresh, ocean breeze. I'm excited to experience the kids' first time at the beach too.
August was a month of goodbyes. To my twenties, to our first house as a family, to Brady and to a split level lifestyle with cramped corners and small rooms. :) So September is a month of hellos. Hello Milford, hello new, big house, and extra space, hello new neighbors & friends and hello beach! I'm looking forward to what the rest of this month and the coming months and years in our new home brings! We have so many memories from our old house: where Brian & I started our married lives almost 7 years ago, where we struggled to become pregnant and finally received our miracle(s), where we brought Jack & Maggie home and enjoyed all those fun/crazy firsts and all the other fun memories in between. Now we have a new home to experience many more special moments and make loads of new memories!
And I promise: pictures to come...
