Weekend family trip

Jack & Maggie spent the night with Papa & Gee this past Friday night. Sunday morning during breakfast we were talking about what we wanted to do, and the museum came up. So we decided to call up the grandparents and see if they wanted to join us. We all piled into the van and headed to the Cincinnati Children's Museum for an afternoon of fun. The kids found plenty to play with, even with the crowds of kids running everywhere. The place was packed!

After playing in the make believe areas we went to the Forest and did a couple of rounds up into the trees and then down the slide.

Look up, it's the Keller family in a tree!

And on the bridge!

If you look closely we are in the netted tunnel. Jack decided to go backwards and Maggie decided to cling to my back and go through like a baby monkey. Daddy is following close behind.

And here we come down the slide!
Jack! (belly down of course)

Daddy!

Mommy & Maggie!

It was a wonderful weekend activity. After the fun we went to a new burger joint, Flip Daddy's. It was quite yummy!

All ready...

to play in the snow at Papa & Gee's house!

Hard to believe she is actually within the weight limit for this swing!

See the snow Mommy?

2012 brought a New Year and yes, snow! It was really a dusting, but snow nonetheless. This has been the first winter since I moved to Ohio that it didn't snow in December. I was just as excited to look out the door at the white as Jack & Maggie!

2011 Catch-up (including Christmas!)

Seeing as it is 2012 and I have been very bad about blogging, here is an end of 2011 rap up.

We had quite the last few weeks of 2011! As was stated in the last post, we all came down with a terrible stomach virus. Just when I thought we were rounding that corner, I ended up having to take Brian to the ER because of sharp stomach pains. We got there around 7:30pm and by 11pm he was in surgery having his appendix removed! He has recovered well, fortunately for me he is back to normal activity. During his week recuperating, I was left with two still somewhat sick kids, though they were seemingly much better by that point. A couple of days after Daddy's surgery, Gee Charlotte and I ended up having to take Maggie to Children's Urgent Care at 10pm because she was inconsolably crying and not getting relief from anything. They did an x-ray of her belly and not only was her stomach filled with gas but she was very constipated. With an at home enema laxative (yes, AT HOME, meaning by mom), increase of Miralax and slight change of diet, Maggie seems to be doing much better. I've made the same changes for Jack and it seems to be helping with his past "issues". I'm terrified of potty training these two!!

Just to make the journey more fun, along came Christmas! We spent Christmas Eve with the Keller family at Aunt Katie & Uncle Ted's house.

Is it time yet?

Do I get to open presents?

Oh boy!!

And away we go!

Christmas morning

We spent Christmas morning at home, after naps Papa Jeff & Gee Charlotte joined us for more presents and then we celebrated with the Waldeck family at Aunt Lisa & Uncle Mike's house. Sadly, I didn't get any pictures of Christmas after the morning fun. It was a wonderful Christmas, and this year we really got to see the childhood joy with Jack & Maggie. I look forward to many more years of sharing the magic of Christmas with them!

Gee & Papa had a New Year's Eve sleepover with Jack & Maggie, and Brian and I spent the evening with our good friends. It was nice to have a casual evening away, and I even made it up to see the ball drop and ring in 2012. I fell asleep shortly after that though. :)

Happy 2012!!
