Sweet Baby Girl

Why have you decided to not sleep at night anymore? I hear you cry (sometimes scream) from your crib, so I pick you up and you immediately lay your head on my shoulder and fall back to sleep. So I put you back in your crib, happy and comforted. Then you are back awake 30 minutes later. How come Sweetie? This morning we ended up cuddling together after you awoke for the 10th time over night. I love you my Sweet little gal and there is nothing better than our cuddle time, but you have to start sleeping on your own again.

9 Months!

That's right, 9 months! Only 3 months until my little babies turn 1!! They are growing and changing every day now it seems. We saw the pediatrician this past Monday and they were utterly fascinated by the paper on the table and behaved very well, even with their one shot.

Wagon ride

A lot has changed in our house over just the last month. The kiddos have become a lot easier to keep appeased and even nap time is getting easier. They have started to recognize one another, which has been really fun to watch. They will babble back and forth and when they both see the "doggy" they react and look to one another for reaction. We've begun taking them out more and more, which sometimes is no big deal and other times proves challenging. All in all though, we're definitely learning as we go and loving every minute of it!

Making Friends!

Today the kiddos and I met up with Gramps and went to the park. It was another gorgeous Spring day! We of course enjoyed the swings. Maggie met a little 5 year old girl names Julia and really seemed interested in all the kids running around and playing. While there Maggie also decided to let everyone hear her new shrieking, and I swear she has been saying Dada with purpose lately. Jack says Mama when he cries, go figure. Jack still is taking it slow on becoming mobile, but he LOVES to sit and play. Maggie is rolling everywhere now! And she's starting to army crawl to get to toys out of her reach. I'm curious to see how much they've grown when we see the pediatrician next week. Bedtime has become a little easier, although for some reason Jack has gone back to waking up at 3am. Fortunately it is still just for a bottle and then back to bed. Naps are getting better, I'm learning that sometimes they just have to whine themselves to sleep. With this weather we've been going on one, if not two, walks a day and we've also gotten to know the family down the street (Hi Vines). Still no teeth, but I'm thinking soon, very soon.

We heart Spring!

The babies have really started turning into little people lately! They are both sitting unassisted which has been fun to watch. Maggie isn't staying up as long as Jack, but she has figured out how to fall onto her belly and then can roll around and usually continue to play. Speaking of rolling, she is really starting to make her way all over the family room. She will take one toy, usually a block, and move herself all over the place with just that one toy. Lately she has been rolling herself to the swings and then playing underneath until she gets bored. It's been fun to watch because usually she'll play alone for quite some time and babble all the while. And man can she babble. She has started saying Ma-ma-ma along with Da-da-da and Ba-ba-ba. Additionally she continues to love singing, screaming and screeching! Jack has started to show interest in rolling, but he would much rather sit with toys. He is getting better about reaching for toys while sitting, and he can fall from sitting pretty well, but doesn't quite know what to do once that happens. He has started making scooting attempts, so crawling is just a matter of time. Since he is sitting, I've been sitting him in the bath tub like a big kid. He loves it! He splashes the water and likes to watch the spray hit his hands.

They love the doggy!

Both kiddos are sleeping so much better at night! Maggie pretty much sleeps straight through fairly consistently and Jack occasionally wakes for a quick bottle around 3am, although (knock on wood) the past few nights he has been sleeping straight through until 6am and then going back to bed for at least a couple more hours. It's been nice to get my sleep back! Now I have to start working on their napping habit. I've still been swaddling and putting them in their swings for naps during the day, and I know I need to wean them from that. I'm going to start by ending the swaddling all together (they aren't swaddled at night) and then I'll start moving them into their cribs. We'll see how it goes!

Perhaps the most exciting new experience this week was our first trip to the park!
